For context I’m East Indian, late 30s female, have medium thickness/volume wavy hair that’s prone to frizz. Also a remediating body and fragrance products junkie. I have been using this trio for about 2.5 months now.

I don’t have any scalp problems but as I’ve been getting older and seeing family/friends, around me getting sick, allergies, hair thinning, auto-immune conditions, cancer, etc. for unclear reasons, I wanted to make more of an effort to stay away from chemicals as much as possible. I was also recently pregnant and had this incredibly heightened smell and could literally smell all the chemicals and the fragrances in my shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. They no longer smelled good, just fake and chemical-y and it turned me off from wanting to keep using them. There’s also been a lot of talk recently about how much our microbiome affects our health so these products fit the bill for that too.

I single or double cleanse with this shampoo depending on how long it’s been since I’d wash my hair (usually every 4-6 days) and it works well, leaving it feeling clean but not dried out, and soft but not in a weighed down way. I also oil my hair with rosemary on my scalp and coconut oil in my strands every couple weeks and a double shampoo of this is AMAZING at cleansing all the oil out and still leaving it soft and not dried out. I used to use BB Sunday Clarifying, then switched to Ouai Clarifying shampoo which was less drying, but Ochre leaves my hair feeling more “clean” of oil but still “soft clean.” It’s hard to explain but it works better than the other two. I definitely recommend this shampoo for both daily and as a double cleanse for oiling hair days. It’s saving room on my shower niche which is nice haha. Also the packaging is nice with the recyclable aluminum, feels luxurious. One bottle lasted me 2 months.

The conditioner is also really nice. Great consistently/thickness, great at detangling my hair but cleans out easy with water without feeling like your hair is greasy or weighed down with conditioner. I’m able to comb through my hair easily afterwards. I use this for my regular shampoo/conditioning days, and like to use a deeper hair conditioning mask every couple weeks. I’m hoping this line comes out with a hair mask in the future 😊 I’m a little more than half way through my conditioner bottle after 2 months.

The hair cream is really interesting in a good way. I tried using natural oil like jasmine in my hair to make it smell good, tamp down frizz, and shine it up, but it’s just too greasy. If you wash your hair often, it may not matter as much (in which case I recommend the Ranavat Fortifying Hair Serum – smells amazing)! But this hair cream was really fascinating to use. Literally feels like cream in your hands but I run a double pea sized amount just through my strands and it’s great at tamping down frizz and making my hair look more healthy and hydrated. Even if I’m just putting my hair back into a simple low pony, I run through it through the side of my hair especially and I just look more put together. There is SO much product in this thing and you only need to use a little, it’s going to last me like 6 months at least.

All in all, as you can probably tell I’m super happy with this trio. They perform just as good if not better than all the other high-end ones I’ve used throughout the years but I feel so much better knowing I’m putting less chemicals on my body.

Absolutely love this stuff! Been using the shampoo and conditioner for a month and it’s been amazing.

I have very difficult hair that I have been trying to figure out forever. It’s curly, coarse, sometimes dry, sometimes oily, with occasional itchy dry scalp and terrible dandruff. I have tried tons of shampoos, conditioners, leave in products, etc etc. Once I even tried different diets to see if it made a difference, but its always kept me guessing.

I went ahead and tried it on my hair, dry versus wet, since I can do both. I loved that it looks so naturally healthy and put together when I applied on my dry hair. Compared to wet , my hair looks so bright voluminous I have curly hair and this works like magic! So worth it definitely getting it again.!

Clean hair may seem like par for the course for shampoo and conditioner, but I have been struggling to find a product that leaves my hair feeling clean (since moving to the Bay Area) for years. I think related to the hard water here, all the products I've tried have left the back of my head feeling oily and heavy. With just one use of ochre (I am not exaggerating!), that oily patch was washed away. Amazing products! I wash my hair about twice a week and this is the most clarifying sulfate free shampoo I have ever used. The lather is super rich and luxurious and it makes my scalp super clean with no residue. I have really bad eczema especially around the back of my neck and frontal scalp area and this works beautifully with no irritation. The hair cream is awesome, great for slick backs without making my hair feel tacky or sticky with a beautiful shine! The conditioner is also wonderful. The conditioner gives my hair a lot of shine with easy combing afterward. I've struggled with eczema and irrititant dermatitis for years and most other products made for those skin conditions tend to be super basic and focus on gentleness but lack the luxurious feel and performace. But Ochre definitely delivers that luxurious salon quality feel for those who struggle with eczema.
